Hi friends! I'm Emily, the creative mind behind Alpenglow Studio, based in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
When I was growing up in a small town in southern New Hampshire, I had my mind set on becoming a Geologist. As time went on, I realized that maybe I just liked all the pretty colors and textures of rocks instead of the science of it all. With that frame of mind out the window, I began to explore different career avenues and landed on Graphic Design.
In 2004 I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Plymouth State University and have spent a majority of my professional career in the newspaper industry and more recently shifted into the Marketing and Hospitality industry.
As a quiet observer, I kept my art in the shadows for many years. It was just something I did in my free time. It wasn’t until someone said to me, “It’s not fully art unless you share it with the world.” And with that, little by little, I opened up my shell and started sharing my work at local arts and crafts shows and on social media.
As an artist, I like to keep an open mind to growth, so I enjoy using several different mediums. I focus a lot of my creative energies into acrylic painting and digital illustration, but also enjoy colored pencil, photography and pencil. My bucket list project is to paint a large mural!
